Introduction

The Lao-American Student Alliance (LASA) is a part of the Lao-American College (LAC). The Student Alliance is an original idea created and carried out by LAC students. LASA belongs to the students of LAC. The students are the reason for its existence. The Student Alliance is as much a part of the college as the lecturers, the books, the assignments, the research and the buildings that make up the college.

Who is the Lao-American Student Alliance (LASA)?

Basically, LASA is the students in the Lao American College. The students elect a representative body, and they act as agents in representing the members of the Lao-American Student Alliance.

Why is there a Student Alliance?

There is an increasing need for students to be able to represent themselves and their requirements. The elected representatives and staff are very aware of the responsibility the Alliance has to its members to be able to provide an acceptable level of service to ALL members in all the areas of the Alliance's function. We are continually seeking new ways to make every student's college experience at the college as friendly and enjoyable as possible.

When was the Lao-American Student Alliance established?

On Saturday, MARCH 23 rd , 2002, at 11 o'clock in Room 404 at the Lao-American College (Old Building) "The Lao-American Student Association" (LASA) was established. On Saturday, OCTOBER 5 th 2002, a decision was reached to change the name to "The Lao-American Student Alliance".

Where is LASA?

The Lao-American Student Alliance is situated within the college. The Lao-American Student Alliance is equipped with an office (LASA office 311) situated on the third floor of the College. The office is used for planning, running activities and to conduct operations.

LASA Activities

Sports

Sports Team is an activity for all Lao-American College as well as the Lao American Student Alliance members and the Lao-American College staff. The team works with the LAC sports team. The team is to organize the sports events for the college. 

Tutoring

Tutoring Team is the most important part of LASA. It's an academic activity that provides both LASA members and other LAC students a tutoring program to help the students about their subjects and study problems. 

Entertainment

Entertainment Team includes songs, dance (Lao dance and international dance), plays and musicians. The team's main activity is to help students identify their talents and abilities in arts. 

News

News Team is the information center of the Lao-American Student Alliance. It works mainly to provide hot news and events in the LAC. Also, the team provides jokes, comics and other games, such as crossword puzzle for the LAC students. 

Bookstore

Bookstore Team is the heart of the Lao-American Student Alliance. It's to provide LAC students with a stationery store located in front of the LAC library. It's the main source of income for LASA.  

Web Page

Web Page Team is for making, managing and updating LASA data and web link inside the LAC web base. It's to advertise LASA online and to provide information about LASA activities.
